UPO Mai Tai Roa Ae
It isn’t pink and it might dissolve an offending umbrella if someone attempted to throw shade on our Mai Tai. This cocktail is no lightweight but ideal for a post turkey hunt lazy afternoon by the pool.
Three rums sweetened with Curaçao, fresh limes, the almond whisper of orgeat, and topped by a fragrant sprig of mint. Sure to put you at ease.
What you’ll need:
- 1 ounce white rum
- 1 ounce gold rum
- 2 ½ ounces dark rum
- 1 ounce Orange Curacao or Grand Marnier
- 1 ounce orgeat syrup
- 1 ounce simple syrup
- 3/4 ounce fresh lime juice (strained)
- Maraschino cherry, for garnish
- 1 wedge fresh lime, for garnish
- Fresh Mint Sprig, for garnish
How to make it happen
Combine the rums, orange curacao, orgeat syrup, simple syrup, and lime juice. Add a scoop of ice and shake until well-chilled, 10 to 15 seconds.
Fill a high ball glass with fresh ice and strain the cocktail into the glass. Garnish with the cherry, lime, and mint sprig.
